Rare Pediatric Disease (RPD) Priority Review Voucher (PRV): Purpose, Reauthorisation & Key Updates

On September 30, 2024 the Rare Pediatric Disease (RPD) Priority Review Voucher (PRV) program had effectively sunset and could no longer issue new vouchers due to prior statutory expiration. It was announced in February 2026 that program has been reauthorized with the FDA to issue new vouchers again through to September 30, 2029. Here to explain the purpose of the RPD Priority Review Voucher (PRV) program, recent reauthorisation and key updates is Dr Susan McCune, formerly the Chief Pediatrician at the FDA.
